Mary Jepsen was commissioned this last Summer by the Yakima Housing Authority to paint three hummingbirds. The paintings are on display in the main building of the new Chuck Austin Place. The housing complex is a new 41-unit permanent supportive housing development serving former homeless veterans. In addition, the complex provides a 12,000 sq. foot supportive center for both residents and the veteran homeless community. Mary selected three hummingbirds found in Washington to create three 8x10" watercolor paintings, which she had framed and then donated to the complex in memory of Dale A. Jepsen, who died as a result of service in Vietnam.
