“A Piece of Work” Virtual Show

That label is not usually a compliment. So, what does it mean as a theme for an art show? We can play with it here.

A Piece of Work.

Did the artist struggle long and hard to create a piece of work that they are happy to show?

Did the artist find a subject that was basically a mess, but an artistic mess?

Did the artist work with a difficult medium, or one that they were unfamiliar with, to create a new way to express their thoughts?

Perhaps the artist has had to work through great personal difficulties to create this piece.

And maybe this piece has jumped off the canvas or paper, or out of the wood, to say, “YES! That’s it! That was exactly what I was hoping you could do! What a Piece of Work!!”

This Virtual Show is for all of us who have faced these dilemmas and come through to stand proudly by our work. You who are seeing this show, welcome to our world!

This original watercolor was painted after I drove to Tieton in the snow. I loved the Wintery feel of the atmosphere that day and the barn strongly shows how stormy the atmosphere was that day.
